The Searching for Bigfoot Team is currently on expedition!

The Searching for Bigfoot team is out on expedition. We have been to Texas to shoot some episodes to our upcoming reality TV series and to attempt a live capture of one of the creatures we have discovered there. After Texas, we are off to South Carolina to investigate the creature the locals call "THE LIZARD MAN!". After South Carolina, we will be headed to Kentucky to check in with some of our friends who have had recent activity on their farm. Next, we may return to Texas on our way back west and do some follow up investigation. I should be able to update this site as computer coverage is available and add more every few days... Stay tuned as we continue our current expedition and show you what we find... as we find it... when we find it!!

Come and see what we are learning and finding as we travel across this wonderful country of ours... Check this site every day for updates.

TEXAS, March 2008

After driving 36 hours, straight through from California, we arrived in Texas early in the morning on Tuesday, March 26, 2008. We met with our hosts, Lance Baily and his wife and waited for more of the people who were to join us on this expedition. Lance and his wife, shared a plan they came up with to maximize our chances of photographing or possibly capturing a creature that appears near their home.

Here is Lance Baily meeting with David Claerr .-.-.-.-.-.-. Another guest and Lance's lovely wife.

SEE A GREAT BREAKTHROUGH ARTICLE WRITTEN BY DAVID CLAERR, follow this link; David Claerr

Lance and his wife shared that almost every day, around 4pm, his wife would go jogging down towards the lake. Occasionally, she felt as if she was being followed or shadowed by something in the bushes near by, running along side of her. After sharing this experience with her neighbors, she found out that other woman in the neighborhood who went jogging in the afternoon, were experiencing the same thing! She said she never felt threatened by what ever it was, nor did her neighbors. This whole experience became part of a normal routine. Lance's idea was to set up cameras and observers in the area on both sides of the path that these ladies used for jogging, later in the day. This way, when the ladies followed their daily routine, we would be in position to photograph what ever it was that was watching the ladies.
The Searching for Bigfoot team agreed that this plan had merit, but we modified it slightly so we could add a bit of security. We asked that this time the jogger not go alone, but pair up with another woman. We also wanted her to take her dog along, (the dog would sometimes follow her anyway..). We also positioned people on all sides of the pathway so that the ladies were never out of site of our team. The security team placed along side of the jogging trail, would close in as the ladies passed, forming a military style pincher maneuver flushing anything there towards the lake and our cameras and keeping close to the joggers. This plan allowed the ladies to do their normal run, but also move people alongside and behind them so that we could flush anything that followed them out through an opening we left that was lined with our cameras. In this way, we might photograph anything that flushed out. In one way, our plan was extremely successful. We executed flawlessly and did in fact flush out all the animals in the area, right in front of the cameras. Unfortunately, what we flushed out was a couple of deer, a wild boar, and more small animals. It would appear that on this day, our elusive friend was not in the area.

Tom Biscardi, TJ, and John Durst

Also along on this trip, a friend we had met while out on a previous expedition, John Durst, was invited to join us on this trip to see what we do. He had never been out with us before and was very curious about what we did. He stayed with us a day before he had to head on back home. He went on back to the motel where he was staying and packed his bags. However, before he checked out, he started a casual conversation with a maintenance man at there at the motel. The maintenance man told him he had been out fishing a couple of days earlier and saw a group of five creatures in a pool near where he was fishing. John was already packed to start his trip back home, but thought he should come back and tell Tom about what he had heard. None of us was confident that we knew where the area that John told us about was. Fortunately, while he was there, the resident Texas Game Warden came by for a routine check. While there, she was able to point out on a map where the area was. John said he thought we should check it out, but the Game Warden explained that it would probably be a waste of time because of the recent flooding in that area. John, not being the type to take "no" for an answer, made the decision to try and find the area on his own... He headed out once again... Within and hour, John returned to tell us that the road to the area was flooded by the recent rains, but he thought he could see tracks going up the banks on the far side of the creek that was blocking his progress. He was so excited that we decided to take a break from the filming we were doing and go to this unexplored area and see for ourselves. Once there, we saw the prints John could see from the road. Using our binoculars, we could see some slide areas and possibly some three toed prints near by... we assumed that these where alligator slide marks and not the tracks from our quarry. However, we thought we would see if we could find a safe place to forge the creek and look more closely on the other side. While looking for a safer place to cross, Chuck Creel, one of our guests on this trip, found the print you see in the picture in an area far from the road and up stream from where we had parked our vehicle! We took photos of the print and cast it. We found nothing else in the area and got out just as it began to rain once again.

SOUTH CAROLINA

LIZARD MAN!

After thanking all of our good friends and a short stop in Schulenberg Texas to visit with David and Penny Houston, we headed out towards Bishopville, South Carolina. This is where Jeannette (Dixie) Dickson and Robert (Bob) Rawson had their automobile attacked by an unknown creature. The attack had all of the same characteristics of an attack that happened twenty years earlier in the same area! This was the famous attack of the LIZARD MAN! near SCAPE ORE SWAMP!!.

The Searching for Bigfoot Team investigated! Goto March April 2008

Follow this link to Local News Videos of our visit: http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?s=8102650

Bob and Dixie, recent transplants from New York came to South Carolina a couple of years earlier to enjoy retirement in the quiet and peaceful, rural community of Bishopville, South Carolina. They are a wonderful couple who love their pets. They have two dogs, one that they have had for over ten years and another that seems to have adopted them since they moved in. They have an African Gray parrot that can speak about 800 words, and seventeen plus cats that live outside of the house on the porch and in the car port areas. They tend to stay around home because Bob has had some health issues that he is just now getting over. Neither Bob or Dixie were very familiar with the reports of the "Lizard Man" that had surfaced back in 1988, twenty years earlier. One morning, they went out to their car, to find it had been damaged. Many of their cats were missing and the cat houses had been torn apart. They could not identify what might have caused this type of damage and called the local sheriff to warn the neighbors that there was something out there that was taking pets. When the sheriff arrived, he too, could not identify what type of animal could cause the damage found on their car, but did notice it was very similar to the damage found on a car twenty years prior! Thus began the RETURN OF THE LIZARD MAN!

The front of the van showing the teeth puncture marks, scratches, and blood stains!

The Searching for Bigfoot team began our investigation from the beginning. We started by talking to the current sheriff and working our way backwards contacting as many people as possible from the investigation of twenty years earlier.

Bob, Dixie, Tom Biscardi and Sheriff EJ Melvin

The sheriff, EJ Melvin had taken swabs of the blood found on the vehicle and sent it to the state labs to have it analyzed for DNA. The results came back non-conclusive. The report stated that the DNA had been contaminated and could not be identified. The Searching for Bigfoot team's forensic expert, Steve Kulls, also took swab samples from the van. Steve had found that it appeared that most of the blood found was probably from a cat that had been caught by what ever damaged the van and was probably mixed with saliva from the unknown creature... thus being contaminated. Steve searched for blood that might have come from the gum line of the creature, prior to it getting it's prey. We will attempt to have Steve's swab analyzed again for DNA and will publish the results when we get them back. Steve also took imprints of the tooth punctures and will attempt to match them with known animals. He measured the bite marks and impressions so that we could attempt to determine the dimensions of the mouth of the creature. Once again, we will share our findings once we have had the chance to analyze them properly. While Steve analyzed the physical evidence, some of the rest of us went about finding some of the people involved with the original story from 1998. Tom Biscardi was able to arrange a meeting with the retired sheriff who investigated the original incident back in 1988. Former sheriff, Liston Truesdale.

Here is Scape Ore Swamp and its dark muddy waters!

Sheriff Truesdale was able to share a lot of information with us. He even had some of the original casts taken of the prints that were supposedly taken as the "Lizard Man" traveled through the swamps.

Here is Liston Truesdale at his home and again meeting with Constable Knight, his wife, and our own James Snell at Scape Ore Swamp

Sheriff Truesdale was able to share a lot of information with us. He even had some of the original casts taken of the prints that were supposedly taken as the "Lizard Man" traveled through the swamps.

One of the original casts taken in 1988

Former Constable James Knight also investigated the incident back in 1988. James was appointed by the Governor as a State Constable. Some of his testimony to us was extremely valuable to us in understanding what really happened. James pointed out to us that the original eye witnesses of the creature known as "Lizard Man" all described a large, dark colored creature with long hair that walked on two legs and had a "red eye shine" when seen at night. The term "Lizard Man" came about when a young man was being interviewed by the press. The young man stated that the creature he saw had very rough skin on its hands... bumpy like a lizard's skin... The Press jumped on this and coined the name "Lizard Man"! James went on to say that the deputies assigned to the case actually brought in hounds to track the creature through the swamp, beginning where the tracks were supposedly found. The hounds were not able to pick up a scent from the tracks, but soon after working them into the swamp, they began to behave very strangely. They came upon an area where many of the trees and tree limbs where broken off about four feet from the ground. The dogs became physically nervous and would not go any further into the swamp. Two of the deputies out near the road saw red eye shine off the road about 100 yards away. They went on down to investigate, but found no signs of any animals there. Constable Knight went on to tell me that he never believed there was a "Lizard Man" out there in that swamp, but he always believed it might be a "bigfoot" type creature!

Tom Biscardi inspected the casts that had been collected as evidence twenty years earlier and was able to show both the former sheriff and constable how he knew they were fakes. All of the prints found back then were identical, showing no splay in the tows as they stepped in the mud. Tom was able to point out where the toes had been attached to the print and that the heel and ball of the foot were flat with no signs of anatomical features. Both the sheriff and the constable seemed to already be aware that the prints were obvious fakes and seemed to be relieved that someone else could see that.

Taking all that we had discovered into account, the team was comfortable concluding that there was never a "Lizard Man" in this area, but after inspecting the area and interviewing witnesses, we are convinced that there must have been encounters with a "bigfoot" type creature. We surmise it was something similar to the creature known in Florida as the "Skunk Ape".

Although most of the local people seem to enjoy the idea of "Lizard Man" visiting their area, we believe what they actually have is far more interesting and credible! We believe that the "Lizard Man" is not a lizard who walks on two... but a real cryptid that deserves real investigation and study! We believe that anyone passing through this part of South Carolina should stop in Bishopville and see for themselves! You might not only find an unknown creature, but you will definitely find some of the warmest and friendliest people around!

KENTUCKY_MARCH_08

Here is Steve Kulls, Scott Smith, TJ Biscardi, and Chris Bennett

Chris Bennett and Scott Smith run the (B.F.R.P), BIG FOOT RESEARCH PROJECT KY (http://www.bigfootresearchproject.com) The Searching for Bigfoot team was able to make a one day stop in Kentucky on their way to the Four Corners of New Mexico. There we were able to meet with the B.F.R.P. and see some of the areas they have been doing research on. We were very impressed with the area they are focusing on, but even more impressed with the methodology being followed by the B.F.R.P. Chris has settled in on what appears to be a very productive area during migrational periods of the year. He has set up some video and audio surveillance equipment in specific areas around the area. This equipment runs 24 hours per day, seven days a week! We know, that this will offer the best possible chances of a documented sighting possible.

While in the area, Chris took us out and showed us some of the areas where he or others have had sightings in the area and/or have had suspicious happenings or sounds. One of the suspicious activities was at an older, abandoned house trailer in a cow pasture. Someone or something came up to this trailer and broke a window on a side door and pulled the door off the hinges! The side of the trailer they chose, was facing the road and raised much higher than the front door and windows on the other side of the trailer? Once the window was broken, it would have been easy to simply open the door by using the knob, but instead the door was torn off? A person trying to break in would probably have gone through the front door or windows and not in view of the road? The side that the entry occurred on did, however, follow the contour of the bottom lands and marshy areas in this particular field.

A police report was filed and the break-in was investigated and remains unsolved. The investigating officer noted that the point of entry and method of entry did not make any sense to him. He was at a total loss as to why anyone would pick such an unusual place or method to enter an empty building.

Steve Kulls shows how high the door that was pulled off, sits on the trailer???

TEXAS_FOLLOWUP_MARCH_08

After our initial visit to Texas to do the photo shoots for the upcoming reality TV series, we headed off to South Carolina, then to Kentucky, and now back to Texas to attempt to follow up on our fortuitous finding of a recent print. When we arrived, we found that there had been some torrential rains since our visit a few short weeks earlier and most of the areas we had access to then, were now under water. Many of the roads leading to places we knew were productive were now un-accessible. There was also a “draw” turkey season going on, which closed down most of the forest to only licensed hunters lucky enough to have won the draw. These things all combined to limit our investigations to very small areas. We made the decision to spend a couple of days here anyway and see if we couldn’t interview a few more locals to see if there had been any additional action in the general area and to set up some cameras and monitoring devices in the few areas we had access to.

We didn’t bring the trailer out into town unless we had to and kept the signs off the truck, so we attracted as little attention as we could. We set up a primitive camp at one of the few areas we could still get to.

To our surprise, almost immediately, people still found us and began showing up at our camp site. Although we enjoyed the company and answering questions for those people who did come by, it did hamper our investigation. We managed to get out later on our first night in camp and did find a foot print. It was difficult to view clearly at night and we planned on making a cast of the pint the following morning. Our hopes were high and we called the office to share our discovery and make arrangements to stay a couple extra days to investigate further if we needed. Unfortunately, a few hours later, in the light of the morning sun, we were able to get a clearer view of our find.

After seeing our find clearly for the first time, we could see that it was clearly a fake… placed there a few hours prior to our foray into he woods. We decided to cast it anyway, if only for demonstration purposes.

We spent another day meeting with some of our contacts in the area and attempting to meet with some of people that we met on our prior visit just a couple of short weeks earlier. We did not hear of any new sightings or signs from the previous couple of weeks, so we made the decision to move on to our next stop in the Four Corners area of New Mexico.

‘’’The simple camp site and the area where we made the casting…’’’

SAD BUT TRUE

It is now April of 2008 and one of the most difficult issues that faces any serious researcher is still alive and well. We have traveled over 300,000 miles in the past 2 1/2 years, following up on stories and reported sightings of the creature most commonly referred to as "Bigfoot"! This may sound like a very romantic and exciting thing to do, and in many ways it is. However, most of the time it is an uncomfortable, physically demanding, exasperating, and frustrating job. We find that a large percentage of the stories we hear and investigate are not what they originally seemed. It is rare that we are able to substantiate a sighting or story with any physical evidence at all. Most of the time, people tell us about an unusual experience they have had and it is our job to see if that experience can be explained away by any other conventional methods before we continue with our research. In other words, we have to "separate the wheat from the chaff" before we begin our work in earnest.

It has been our experience that almost all of the people that we have worked with told us the absolute truth about their experiences. Even if we eventually find a simpler explanation for the experiences these people lived through, one that may not be related to "Bigfoot", we appreciate the commitment and openness of these people and use the information to help us better understand the phenomena we are attempting to study.

One of the most discouraging things we have to deal with, while attempting to do our job, is the over-powering and ugly ignorance of a very few of the people we come in contact with. The type of people who are too ignorant to understand a joke, so they laugh at it because they think they should... They don't know what the joke is about, but they have heard people laugh at jokes, so they want to appear as if they get it... and laugh... These people have heard others talk about "Bigfoot" and perhaps those people may have let out a little nervous laugh while talking. Many normal people are a little nervous talking about this issue, because they are not sure how other people may take them.

I don't fault those normal people... after all, there is very little "scientific" evidence available to substantiate the existence of this unique and officially un-recognized animal. There is still a large question in the minds of many of those people who have not had the opportunity to go into the field and see for themselves what is actually out there. That is why we are out there investigating. We have found so much intrinsic evidence that we know there is an un-known creature out there! Our job is to prove it in a way that no-one can discount. The people that I am concerned about, are the ones who are so ignorant that they feel the need to "laugh at the joke they don't understand"... They want to make people think they get the joke they really don't understand. They try to fit in with the normal people who may have some legitimate trepidation about committing to stating openly that they believe this creature exists. And so, many people discuss it with a little bit of nervous laughter amongst their friends.

The truly ignorant people, in an effort to "fit in" with the normal people around them, go so far as to interfere with our work. They "sickly" believe that if they can trick us into finding fake prints or other evidence in an area. They seem to be attempting to demonstrate that they get the joke, even though there was never a joke!?! In fact, all they are demonstrating is their own ignorance! It is as if they are saying; "... I am really stupid and I can prove it... watch me!..."

On a recent visit to an area near Paris Texas, we were attempting to follow up on a recent story shared with us by some good and honest local people. These people experienced some things near their homes that they could not easily understand. They wanted to know if these experiences could possibly be related to recent sightings in this area. In an effort to help them understand what might be going on in this area, the Searching for Bigfoot field expedition team set up a research camp near the alleged experiences. We set up in a very cold, rainy, and muddy area to put up our very expensive equipment. Even though we risked damaging our equipment and even our own health in these nasty and uncomfortable conditions, we felt it important to "leave no stone unturned" and attempt to bring some closure to this issue. Sadly, all we were able to do, after driving almost three thousand miles, was to discover that there are some very deranged and ignorant people in that area who for what ever sick reason, want to discredit any serious research about this creature and in doing so, discredit any of their neighbors who may have the courage and God given curiosity to want to know the truth about the world around them. These few sick people exposed their ignorance by attempting to place phony foot prints in a place where we would be sure to find them! This took a lot of time, effort, and ignorance to do, but they did try. Here are a couple of pictures of the print they left us to find:

Note the length to width of this print is odd? There is no shape to the bottom of the foot... no arch, no heel, no dermal ridges..

The following is a letter I sent back to the office back in 2006. It is now 2008 and it looks like not too much has changed.

A LETTER FROM JAVABOB ABOUT THE NOVEMBER 2006 EXPEDITION

We are about one quarter of the way through our current cross country expedition and we have discovered something very disturbing. At our second stop of this trip, we stopped at Lamar Point in Paris, Texas to meet with some of our associates. When we arrived, we saw a few people we recognized who belong to a local Bigfoot research organization. They left as soon as they realized we were there! It would seem that they were in the process of casting some prints down near the lake, but left in such a hurry that they left a wet plaster print on the beach, they even left a large bag of plaster sitting near by! We found that to be very odd. When we went down to the area where they were working, I was troubled to find that they were setting casts of bogus prints! We took pictures of the prints and our tracker Lee Hickman pointed out all of the details that prove that the prints are fakes! We went ahead and shot a video of Lee explaining to our camera man how he could spot the fake. Even to the point of showing the prints from the clips that held the false forms to the bottom of someone’s feet! I do not want to name the organization that was responsible for this hoax now, but I am so very disappointed I needed to share this disturbing information with someone. Once I get back, I will put the video on the web site and write up a more detailed report of what we found. Other then that, all is going well. We had stopped at the Apache Nation in Arizona and met with all of our good friends out there. It was a wonderful visit and we took some great footage while we were there. We were on their radio show and were blessed enough to get some great stories and leads on recent sightings and encounters. I can’t wait to be able to share some of these stories with our friends on the web site when I get back to my office and can spend some time on the computer. We will be heading east in another day or so and I will send short reports back as time allows. In the mean time, keep us in your prayers and give our love to the rest of the team.

Until then, JavaBob

NEW MEXICO MARCH 08

Some of the ancient pictographs found in this area...

The Searching for Bigfoot team has made it back to visit some of our friends in Farmington New Mexico and it’s surrounding areas. Farmington is located in the Four Corners area of the United States. Within about 30 minutes drive from here, you can be in either Arizona, Utah, Colorado, or New Mexico thus, the name Four Corner.

Four Corners has some of the most spectacular and diverse terrain to be found anywhere in the United States. It is the home of several of the most important and influential of the First Nation peoples to be found anywhere. It is the traditional homeland of the Dine’ Navajo, the Southern Ute, the Jicarilla Apache’, and many more.

This is our fourth visit to this area since May of 2006. We have met and maintained friendships with a great many fine people here, including JC Johnson, Leonard Dan, Dave Ortiz, and Jonathon Lee of the Crypto Four Corners organization. You can check it out at; http://www.untameddimensions.com/c.html We have also checked in with our old friend Ray Mahlmann and met at least a dozen more new friends.

Leonard Dan and JC with some of our boys - - Shiprock as seen in the new Transformer movie

We tried to follow up on some interesting areas we had seen before, beginning with a two day stay up in the Lukachukai Mountain range. We followed by going back to a cave near the San Juan River. Last visit, we found corn cobs in the cave even though it was over three miles away from where any corn had been grown. Inside the cave the team found bare corn cobs and many corn husks. We wanted to see if there were more corn husks inside, or any other signs of habitation in the area.

TJ Biscardi reports on his experience in the Lukachukais:

TJ Report: Sun 07:28 April 08 Lukachukai Mountain Range
While on watch sitting at the 7800 foot elevation I noticed a black object contrasting against the grey landscape moving from the 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock about the 9500 foot elevation just below a rock out-cropping. My first thought was to dismiss it away as a Roosevelt elk or mule dear. Once I realized it couldn’t have been either because of the distance from our base camp to the unknown object, I stood up to try to get a better look and vantage point so I could identify it, I then reached down to grab the binoculars and searched franticly along the area to see what it actually was that caught my eye. Unfortunately, whatever I had seen had already moved into the tree line and was no longer visible. I stayed watching for addition 2 hours not wanting to give up my vantage point to the next team member. Analysis, according to our local Dine' Guide, the mule dear and Roosevelt elk in the area would have not been large enough for me to see at the mile plus distance! ? ! ?

TJ and Steve Kulls checking out the area where TJ had his unusual sighting - - More of the area we monitored

Leonard Dan, our Dine' guide told me, there where only two possibilities left, it was either a black bear or our large hairy biped. He then knocked the bear off the list saying that the black bear populations in the area are 200-300 pound in weight on average and the largest he has known to have been reported in his 69 years of growing up in the area was about 500 pounds. Was what I saw a Sasquatch ???? I don’t know and I cannot, with 100% certainty, know. What I do know is that it was large enough to startle me out of my daze from staring for several hours and seemed to "be bop" across the area quickly enough to get my attention.
End of my report - TJ

Steve Kulls, TJ Biscardi, and JavaBob - - The cliffs we climbed to investigate the cave

This time we only found about four pieces of corn cob and no other signs of habitation except for the bird and bat guano that had accumulated on the floor of the cave. We traveled through the cave until it exited on the far side of the mountain, but no significant finds were made.

Entering the front of the cave - - The opening at the back of the cave

After our visit to the cave, we headed out to Arizona to check out an area were more recent reports of sightings had been reported. The area was also rich in history. An area where the local Native Peoples had many battles with the invading Spanish Conquistadors! Our guide, Leonard Dan, told us to keep our eyes open for artifacts. He said it is not uncommon to find old swords, armor, and muskets.

The road we traveled to get to the area of the recent sighting - - An old iron artifact that our guide found
The artifact found may be a broken part of a Spanish Pike!

We did not find any signs of our elusive friend and eventually headed back to Farmington to write up our reports and get ready for the long trip back home. In Farmington, we met Dave Folk, the owner and operator of Java Junction. David was nice enough to give us some wonderful hot coffee and allowed us to use his Wireless Internet to update our computers. I strongly suggest that if you ever find yourself in Farmington N.M. you stop in and tell Dave...

JavaBob sent you!!

While back in town, Steve Kulls got a chance to interview more people and investigate some other issues we discovered in the area. Here is Steve's report on just a little of what he discovered:

Report from Steve Kulls:
We encountered several different witnesses. One of the more compelling reports came from "MJ" who stated her Grandmother in the 90’s had a habituation in the Dulce, New Mexico area. The Grandmother would allegedly feed the creature by placing food in a refrigerator which was kept outside her domicile. Contrary to the Navajo belief, the grandmother was Jicarilla Apache, and thought an encounter with a creature to be good luck rather than bad.

The Grandmother, unfortunately passed several years ago and neither the house nor the refrigerator is available for inspection. There has been no additional activity in this general area, recently. "MJ" also told us of her own encounter in which she, along with a male companion, observed a black, hairy, biped with a large cow under it’s arm! It turned and glanced at them briefly and stepped over a 5 foot fence! The interesting fact is "MJ" remembers more of the cow’s description than that of the creature, as it all totally shocked her!

Also, I am currently investigating a plane crash which occurred near here in the Chuska Mountains, in 1995 in which official reports stated the bodies from the plane had been removed from the craft and laid neatly next to each other under the fuselage, buried in pine needles prior to any human intervention in locating the crash. As of this writing, I currently have the National Transportation Safety Board Accident Report and several media articles covering the crash. The link to the NTSB report is: http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/GenPDF.asp?id=FTW95FA349&rpt=fa I will be compiling more of this report as time allows and will share my findings with you through this site.
End of my report – Steve Kulls
